Scotty Probasco
Everyone who has ever met Scotty Probasco knows that 'great work' is not only a comment he often uses to acknowledge the work of others but it is also a way of life for him. Scotty Probasco believes in Chattanooga, its schools, its churches, the arts and the agencies providing for human needs.
There is a lot that Scotty does for which he is recognized but there is much that he likes to do without fanfare, which is one of the reasons he established a donor-advised fund through the Community Foundation.
"I've provided for the things I care about in my will and plan to continue to give throughout my lifetime. The donor-advised fund is something extra, set aside specifically to help me make contributions to charities in the area. I can add to the principal of the fund at any time or I can limit my giving to the Fund's earnings."
"The Community Foundation keeps me informed and up to date on who's doing what in the community and who needs help. I make the decisions and then I tell the Foundation where to send grants from my fund and they take care of the rest. And, after I am not around the Foundation's Board will make decisions on where the money should go based on my charitable interest."

"Geoffrey Sidney Cohn, our first-born child, was a bright and 'sunshiney' little boy. With a spirited enthusiasm for life, he loved to play and was an integral part of his extended family. Geoffrey's explorations included the wide world around him and we, his parents, found ourselves busily investigating his environment with him.
During his short life, we had many dreams for Geoffrey's future. At the age of two, on December 24, 1959, Geoffrey died. It is our hope that the Geoffrey S. Cohn Scholarship Fund will enable our family to help other youngsters realize their future goals and dreams."

Carol & Jim Robinson
Carol and Jim Robinson set up their donor-advised fund in 1997 after Jim learned how the Foundation could help make their annual giving easier.
Jim retired from his family business in 1993, the American Manufacturing Company, which was located on the site where the Tennessee Aquarium now stands. Jim's great grandfather bought the business in 1898 and a century later Jim now volunteers at the Aquarium regularly.
"Convenience made the Community Foundation our giving partner," said Jim. "We can make a donation of stock to our fund and the Foundation handles all the work. The Foundation then invests the proceeds for us and handles all requests we make for grants to be made from our fund."
